Happy New Year 2008

Well, the new year started out with a bang for me and my family. As most of you know, we are interim youth pastors at CCC.....Well, our youth group was invited by another church to attend their New Years Eve Big Party, an all nighter. Yup, you heard right....all night...from 8:00 p.m. New Year's Eve till 7:00 a.m. in the morning New Year's Day. PRAISE THE LORD....WE SURVIVED!!! Actually we had an awesome time with the young people.
We started the night playing games, inflatables, foosball, pingpong, pool....etc. Then at 10:00 p.m., we moved to the main sanctuary to do some karaoke. (picture to below; Vanessa, Caity, Jordana, Cassandra and Shannon Yennie).

After, the karaoke, we had two bands do a mini concert. One was a rock band and the other was two rappers. (picture below left is the band, "7 Stories", with Chris Cocolla and Josh Howe.

They had lots of prizes for the kids. 5 minutes before Midnight we counted down the minutes. They let go a bunch of balloons the kids had to pop because there was paper in them telling them what prize they had won. (my son Jake won 4 movie tickets!!!)

At 12:20 a.m., we hopped in two buses to go duckpin bowling.

The picture to your right are; Rickie, Tiffani, Ruben, Vanessa and Tito.

We had lots of fun bowling....
Picture below is my partner in crime and friend, Arleen Carrasquillo.

I drove the kids crazy the whole night playing with the noise maker...by sunrise they wanted to burn it.

After we finished bowling, we boarded the buses again and went to the movie theatre to see a movie called "Stardust". It was pretty good. I thought for sure I would take a nap during the movie, but it was good enough to keep me awake. The movie was over by 5:30 a.m. and went back to the church to have breakfast.

By the time 7:00 a.m. came around, we were ready to have the parents pick up their teenagers. I'm proud to say all the kids were picked up by 7:15. Praise the Lord!. Needless to say, we went home exhausted and sleep till 4:00 p.m.

Happy New Year to all my friends and family!!!
